Our Staff

Sunbelt’s experienced staff is dedicated to prompt and effective client service. Our staff includes:

 

  Kathleen Pruitt- Manager – Ms. Pruitt has been manager of Sunbelt Title since 1997. Prior to working at Sunbelt, she was in banking for eight years as a Loan Specialist. She is also an affiliate member of the Northwest Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association and the Shreveport/Bossier Board of Realtors.
  Carla Baker- Closing Administrator – Ms. Baker has worked with Sunbelt since 1998. She is an affiliate member of the Northwest Louisiana Mortgage Lenders Association and the Shreveport/Bossier Board of Realtors.
  Sunbelt Abstractors- Sunbelt employs two full-time abstractors to assist with various aspects of abstracting & recording.
Our Attorneys

Under Louisiana law, all title insurance must be issued based on a title opinion by a licensed Louisiana attorney. Sunbelt’s attorneys have years of experience in nearly all phases of real estate practice. Sunbelt’s attorneys are:

 

Reginald E. Cassibry- Mr. Cassibry has over thirty-six years of experience, primarily in Oil and Gas and other energy matters and real estate title examination, title insurance, and financing. As a real estate attorney, Mr. Cassibry has examined title to and/or represented buyers and lenders in many commercial projects in North Louisiana, including two Shreveport/Bossier casinos, shopping centers, hospitals, apartment complexes, warehouses, and office buildings. He represents one of the area’s largest landowners in connection with sales of its properties. Mr. Cassibry is Vice-President of Sunbelt Title Company and acts as an agent for First American Title Insurance Company of Louisiana. Mr. Cassibry received his undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering from Louisiana Tech University in 1969 and his law degree from Louisiana State University where he was the Associate Editor of the Louisiana Law Review. Mr. Cassibry is also a licensed title insurance producer.

 

 

M. Thomas Arceneaux- Mr. Arceneaux has been in practice for over 35 years. His practice is primarily commercial law, with emphasis on commercial transactions including commerical real estate transactions representing buyers, sellers and lenders . Mr. Arceneaux received his B.S. in economics, magna cum laude, from Louisiana State University in 1972 and his J.D. from the Paul M. Hebert Law Center at LSU in 1976. At the Law Center, he served as Articles Editor for the Louisiana Law Review. From 1982-1990, Mr. Arceneaux served as a member of the Shreveport City Council, including holding office as Chairman and Vice Chairman of that body. He is a member of the Louisiana State and Texas State Bar Associations and the American Bar Association. He has served on many community organization boards, including the Shreveport-Bossier Mayors’ Prayer Breakfast, the Rotary Club of Shreveport, the Shreveport Little Theater, Holy Angels Residential Facility, and the Highland Restoration Association and AMI Kids Red River. Mr. Arceneaux is a licensed title insurance producer and is an agent for First American Title Insurance Company of Louisiana.

 Melissa Scott Flores- Ms. Flores’ practice includes commercial and residential real estate, title examination and title insurance and oil and gas title work. She received her undergraduate degree from Louisiana State University and her law degree, magna cum laude, from Loyola University New Orleans School of Law, where she was a William S. Crowe Scholar and a member of the Loyola Law Review. Ms. Flores is a licensed title insurance producer and is an agent for First American Title Insurance Company of Louisiana. She is a member of the American, Louisiana State and Shreveport Bar Associations, the Louisiana Land Title Association, the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen and the Junior League of Shreveport-Bossier, Inc.

 

 

 Katherine G. Douthitt- Ms. Douthitt’s practice emphasizes commercial and real estate transactions. Ms.Douthitt is a 2008 graduate of the Paul M. Hebert School of Law (J.D., B.C.L.) and the Flores MBA Program at the E. J. Ourso School of Business (M.B.A.), both at Louisiana State University. She also received her undergraduate degree in accounting with a concentration in internal auditing from LSU. Ms.Douthitt joined the firm and was admitted to the practice of law in Louisiana in 2008. She is a licensed title insurance producer and is an agent of First American Title Company of Louisiana. Additionally, she is a member of the American, Louisiana State, and Shreveport Bar Associations as well as the Ark-La-Tex Association of Professional Landmen, the Louisiana Land Title Association and the Louisiana Association of Independent Land Title Agents.
